The mare Let’s Make Adeal travelled nicely in sixth place, following a moderate early pace (first 1000m 62.05). She fanned wide on straightening, moved up well to challenge at the 200m and finished a little too well for a narrow but good win, running the 1600m out well. The well performed ex-New Zealander Castlzeberg led and set an average pace before picking up the tempo from the 600m. He kept fighting back when challenged in the straight and was only run down in the last few strides for second, conceding 3kg to the winner. It was his first start from a spell and should benefit from the outing. Captain Fancypantz was back in ninth place on the rails to the 600m, before going wide on straightening. He put in a good run, getting to fourth at the 200m and then battled on for a sound third. *ANZ
