Promising filly Text’n Hurley ($3.30 favourite) settled sixth one off the rails, travelling well, following a moderate early tempo (first 800m 50.40). She improved nicely, three wide, from the 600m to challenge at the 200m. She took the lead at the 100m and went on to score well by a length at the post. It was a good win. Kukla was ninth to the 600m and was held up between runners at the home turn. She angled into the clear at the 200m, went to third at the 200m and continued to battle on well for a good second. Danestroem raced outside the leader (Danapaise) to the turn, took a narrow lead at the 200m and battled on well for third. Second favourite Are There Any ($4.60) raced behind the leader to the home turn and was going well but blocked on turning for home. She went for an inside run at the 200m but was checked, losing all chance, and her eighth should be overlooked. *ANZ
