The Everest barrier draw and final field

Where has the favourite drawn?

The $20 million Everest will be held on Saturday and Ka Ying Rising is the current favourite with many bookies to take out the Group 1.

The 1200m sprint is known as the “world’s richest race on turf” and is run at the Randwick Racecourse.

While a lot of the talk has centred around Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising, you can’t count out the other horses.

The Wayne, Michael and John Hawkes trained Briasa is blistering into The Everest in red-hot form, most recently winning the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) on October 4.

Also, Joliestar who holds the Chris Waller Racing slot, is in for a real chance.

The final field for The Everest has now been declared after Yulong Investments confirmed Mazu in their slot.

In a slight change to plans, Racing NSW directed all Wagering Operators to suspend betting immediately until 9pm on Tuesday night.

Racing NSW Stewards conducted a confidential barrier draw on Tuesday morning before they were publicly released via a drone show over Sydney Harbour.
