The horse who can beat Ka Ying Rising in The Everest

“We saw the horse that can beat Ka Ying Rising."

Ka Ying Rising is currently the favourite with many bookmakers to win the $20 million Everest.

But there is a horse sitting at tasty odds who could be the one to beat the star international sprinter.

“We saw the horse that can beat Ka Ying Rising in an Everest,” Pfitzner told SENTrack and RSN’s Lay back with Betfair.

“Do you know what his name is? His name is Jimmysstar.

“He has come home (in the Premiere Stakes) in 32:48, 32:48!”

Pfitzner was all over the Ciaron Maher trained gelding following his second-place finish in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) behind Briasa.

Jimmyystar came from the back of the field to sprint past the rest of the competition in rapid time, but despite the amazing finish at Randwick, Betfair's Tom Haylock couldn’t agree, sparking a debate between the pair.

Haylock: “His problem is he might be four lengths off the best sprinter in the world.”

Pfitzner: “If he draws a better gate, he wins it.

Haylock: “That’s not how he runs though, he runs his best going back and sprinting home on the outside.

“He’ll need Ka Ying Rising to get tired to win.

Pfitzner: “He can still settle closer.

Haylock: “I don’t think he races his best if he settles fourth to midfield.

Pfitzner continued to stick to his guns though, doubling down that Jimmysstar is the biggest threat to the 'unbackable' international horse.

“He is now the number one seed outside of Ka Ying Rising,” Pfitzner claimed.

“The horse outside of Ka Ying Rising who is the biggest competition (is Jimmysstar).

“A horse has got to travel, you can’t back him (Ka Ying Rising)."

The Everest takes place at 4:15pm AEDT.
