There are calls for Racing Victoria to reconsider its position after the trainers premiership race was blown wide open with news Ciaron Maher would start from scratch in the trainers premiership following Dave Eustace's departure to Hong Kong.

"For the avoidance of any doubt, any wins from 28 January to 31 July 2024 by Ciaron Maher will not be added to the tally of the Maher & Eustace partnership for the 2023-24 premierships," Racing Victoria stewards said in a media release.

Ben Sellenger is CEO of Ciaron Maher Racing and questioned whether it was fair.
