Midweek racing from Sandown Hillside and Randwick Kensington and we’ve got a horse to follow from each.
Sandown Hillside Race 6 – Immediacy
Strong win from this three-year-old against the older horses at his second start. He was a good debut winner over 1500m at Cranbourne, running the fastest late splits to get up narrowly and went on with it here. He didn't beat a whole lot but they aren't complete bludgers and he looks a stayer of some promise. Over the 1800m he was again clearly the fastest late splits of the race and by Tarzino, I think he'd be an ideal SA Derby sort of contender.
Randwick Kensington Race 2 – Equipage
This Lonhro filly really should be breaking her maiden next time out. She's had six starts now for four placings but this is a career peak and she just happened to bump into a fairly smart $1.40 favourite in Pure Alpha. Her best efforts have come over 1400m and this race has stacked up quite well against the other 1400m race which was a Bm72. They've only run 0.04 seconds slower overall and have come home faster with Equipage finishing strongly along the rails to just miss. She looks like a mile will be no issue and if she can find a similar race next time out she should be breaking through.
