Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - PHAROAH'S PROPHECY (4) has hit the top-four in all three starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Should be ready to peak now third-up from the spell and must be respected from the Vandyke barn. Rates the testing material. BLUEPINOT (6) will find this easier than what he faced in NSW and gets Orman on from the inside marble. Ticks a few boxes. MISS REILLY (10) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and looks a must for the multiples. KATERINI (9) best of the rest with the 1.5kg claim.
RACE 2 - TRAPEDO (9) resumes here but the form she showed before the spell was more than good enough to play a prominent role in a race like this. Tuned up for this with a couple of recent trials and should be going very close while fresh. ECCLESTONE (4) is having his first run for the new stable but has looked handy winning both local trials and gets the deadly Gollan/Jones combination. Keep a close eye on market support. CREATIVITY MISS (11) was right there in both starts before being tipped out for time to furnish. Can return a winner. ALPINE RAIDER (3) next in line with the claim while fresh from the low draw.
RACE 3 - AQUAHOLIC (3) returned in fine fashion with a close-up second at the Sunny Coast and this is not an overly strong affair. Will strip fitter for that hit-out and Wilson-Taylor stays in the stirrups. Looks very hard to toss. KEEP SAFE (1) draws low, strips fitter second-up and gets Maloney on board. Plenty to like about his chances. ANSON BAY (2) looked handy winning a recent trial and gets some weight relief with the 2kg claim. Top-three conveyance while fresh. VALENCIA ROC (12) just missed the placings on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. One for the exotics players. STRIKE THE HEART (8) rounds out the selections.
RACE 4 - BOOMROUX (3) has placed on all three occasions and looks to be nearing a maiden victory. Harley sticks in the saddle and only needs some luck from the sticky draw to be featuring in the outcome. CELESTIAL BLAZE (4) is another to finish runner-up when facing the starter for the first time and gets a jockey upgrade in Orman. Among the main hopes. SHEDRIVESABENTLEY (13) is next in line from the Bruce camp.
RACE 5 - The well-related AUTORA (7) (half to G3 winner and G2 placed Tempt Me Not) shed the maiden tag in good order last time out and will have taken a stack of confidence from that breakthrough victory. Has placed over this track and trip and looks the one they all have to run down. SAXINOUE (6) has hit the top four in all four career outings and is yet to put in a poor one. Strips fitter third-up now and has the ability to mix it with them. MAGIC GAME (9) has won three of her past four and it's hard to ignore mares in form. Cannot be discounted. KIRRAGIRL (10) is next in line from the Waller stable.
RACE 6 - LORDSTER (4) grows a leg for hoop Bellamy who has two wins and two placings from just five steers and gets the benefit of her 3kg claim. Has placed around this circuit and should be right there when the whips are cracking. CONVINCEBILITY (2) is improving with racing this time in and is drawn to sit on speed from the favourable draw. Should give backers a sight. BILLIONAIR BABY (3) gets some weight off from the inside marble and can play a role in the outcome. SKYWRITER (10) best of the rest.
RACE 7 - FLAG HALL (2) resumes here but the form he showed last campaign was good enough to hold in high regard. Is yet to miss a drum in four outings over this sprint journey and revved up for this with a recent Gold Coast trial placing. Can run a big race while fresh. The well-related ZELGARIA (7) (half to G1 winner Politeness) only went down narrowly in a Rosehill Highway at the latest effort and should find this assignment a touch easier. Hard to ignore. RUSSIAN SUB (3) is a model of consistency who doesn't know how to run a bad race. In the mix. DAMO DAYZ (5) is a bit hit or miss but has won two of three this preparation and rates among the better hopes on best form.
RACE 8 - CERTAINLYCAN (4) resumes after a lengthy lay-off but was a dominant winner over this track and trip before the break and has looked to have come back in good order with two strong recent trials. Sure to be up to scratch from the Gollan barn and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. BOLLINGER MISS (7) has a win and a second from two starts here and has been racing in fine fashion this campaign. Looks a serious danger. ABOUT TO EXPLODE (1) strips fitter second-up from the spell and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside marble. Top-three aspirations.
