Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - ROYAL MILE (1) hasn't threatened the winner in his two runs back but has been finding the line nicely. Nearing his peak now and is a track and trip winner. Gets a great chance to break a long run of outs. JENKINS (3) was super here first-up when charging home to just miss. He was too bad to be true last start in the Gawler Cup but can bounce back sharply third-up over a favoured track. Gets in well at the weights and can give this a big shake. ICHIBANSAN (5) was eye-catching fresh when flashing home into the placings at Gawler. Not as effective last start when rising sharply in trip to tackle the Listed John Letts Cup. Not as tough this time and carries a feather on his back with the 3kg claimer reuniting. Can give this a big shake. FRANCE'S BOY (4) is a grand old horse. Is drawn to advantage in start 130 and is sure to give a bold sight. Have to keep him safe.
RACE 2 - ROYAL MAJESTY (4) returned in career-best form last start at HQ when getting the verdict. Worth noting she broke her maiden in impressive fashion when second-up in her debut prep. Suspect she's got a fair bit more up her sleeve. DANCING STORM (3) gave backers a bold sight when resuming, only to be captured late. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt and is drawn softly for gun hoop Nunes. Main danger. PURE AQUA (2) has run well in her two runs back when lugging big weights. Won't know herself dropping back to 56.5kgs. Right in this. COLMAR (1) failed to go on with it in the lane first-up but was carrying a big weight. Gets some weight off and is sure to have taken improvement. Payne reuniting is another positive.
RACE 3 - LAPILLI (7) was there to pounce when resuming favourite last start but couldn't go on with it, gathered in final 100m. Better for the run and is sure to be very competitive. GLOBAL TURN (8) closed off nicely into the placings when returning two weeks ago. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt and is drawn kinder over a longer trip. One of the key chances. WALK LIKE AN ANGEL (3) was too bad to be true first-up when always at the tail. The form around her last campaign stacks up superbly for this and her second-up record is strong. No shock to see her add to it. RUN LIKE HELL (2) failed to fire a shot last start at Moonee Valley after coming through a hot form race at Warrnambool. Worth noting the booking of gun for hire Noel Callow. Don't underestimate.
RACE 4 - GREAT MAXIMUS (1) failed to live up to market expectations fresh when one-paced in a strong BM78. Much easier this time and is expected to improve sharply with Toeroek reuniting over a winning track and trip. MORRIS MINOR (5) rattled home to just miss when resuming at HQ two weeks ago in a similar grade. Drawn to take closer order this time as he rises to a winning trip. Another forward showing is anticipated. SCHRODER'S MISTAKE (7) was an impressive debut winner at Morphettville when leading pillar-to-post. Comes in fresh with a month between runs. Has his share of ability and is certainly one to consider. OVERSTATED (6) is still open to improvement in his debut prep and will enjoy getting 2kgs off. Don't overlook.
RACE 5 - ARUGAMAMA (2) returned to her best form last start when beaten narrowly over 2500m at Morphettville. Looks much better placed over these longer trips and will appreciate getting 2kgs off. Pannell reunites and is 1/1 aboard. The one to beat. SIR KINGSFORD (1) is yet to strike through this campaign but has been knocking on the door. Is yet to be tested over this journey but does have two wins over 2000m in weaker grades. Will roll forward again and be in this for a very long way. YURI ROYALE (3) has good form around a few of these runners and now gets a nice pull at the weights over a favoured track and trip. Don't underestimate. GLENS TOP CAT (6) strips fitter fourth-up and will appreciate the added trip. In the mix.
RACE 6 - PROVEN CORRECT (1) has built into this campaign nicely and should be ready to peak fourth-up. Doesn't need to improve much to take this out. DUNREAL (6) was a barnstorming maiden winner at Balaklava last month. Tried replicating last start at headquarters, couldn't get there but wasn't too far away. Fitter again and can settle closer over the longer trip from a low draw. Winning hoop reunites and he's right in this. GRUELLING (10) finds the second win elusive but rarely turns in a poor one. Gets in low at the weights and is among the chances. JOVIALE (4) next best.
RACE 7 - THERMODYNAMIC (9) made very light work of his rivals here fresh when returning with a bang. Was a touch flat second-up when stepping out to the mile. Fitter now and is drawn softly for in-form hoop Nunes. Bold showing anticipated. EVEN SHARPER (3) continues to knock on the door. Again closed off nicely to the line late last start when narrowly missing frame. Sets up similarly and is an obvious chance. AITCH D'AMICO (1) has gone better than the form reads in his two runs back and should be nearing a peak now. Rates highly on best figures and is right in the mix. FALAISE (5) lacks tactical speed but possesses a strong turn of foot on his day. Expect him to drift back from the draw and be climbing over their backs late. CHOSEN MISS (7) drops back sharply in trip after narrowly missing over 2100m at Gawler last start. Is another one to keep in mind if they overdo it early.
RACE 8 - HOOKED ON WEALTH (8) is ticking along superbly this campaign despite only having the one win to show for it. The form around him is stacking up and Crowther sticks over an ideal trip. Leading chance. BEAUTY BOUND (7) lived right up to market expectations at headquarters last start when blowing them away over the 1100m. Slight query dropping back to the 1000m, she will be hoping they turn it on early doors to set up a late assault. VEXATIOUS DANCER (9) returns. May need the run but was solid against some good opposition last campaign. Don't dismiss. THE STALKER (2) was too bad to be true here last start and is capable of a sharp bounce back on a short turnaround. Keep safe.
