A look at the descendants of Black Caviar who remain racing propositions.
Monday's sad post-script to Black Caviar's passing was the loss of the Snitzel colt whom she foaled just before her death, but just a day later the racing industry was served a reminder that her legacy will live on.
Keysborough, a grandson of the legendary mare, hinted on Tuesday that he could be in for a handy campaign with a dashing trial at Rosehill.
The I Am Invincible gelding is one of three named-foals from Oscietra, who was Black Caviar's first born.
Below is a look at the descendants of the champion sprinter racing fans can look forward to seeing on the racetrack.
I Am Caviar: Also a gelded five-year-old son of I Am Invincible, he is now the only son or daughter of Black Caviar in-training who has already raced. Her sixth foal, I Am Caviar won two of 13 starts for Peter Moody, but is now with Tony Gollan in Queensland where he is yet to race.
Persian Caviar: The daughter of Written Tycoon is a three-year-old with Moody and Katherine Coleman who is yet to get to the races, but Black Caviar's seventh foal did have a jumpout at Pakenham on April 30, finishing sixth of seven.
The Autumn Sun yearling: After Persian Caviar, Black Caviar missed with visits to Extreme Choice and I Am Invincible in 2021 but the following year got in-foal to The Autumn Sun, conceiving a colt who is now one-year-old.
Keysborough: The first foal from Black Caviar's first foal, Oscietra, impressed leading all the way to win Tuesday's 900m trial, in which he was followed home by Stakes performers Red Card, Kallos and Switzerland. The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained son of I Am Invincible has had nine starts, breaking his maiden two starts ago in a 1000m Wyong maiden. Oscietra's second and third foals, Pietro Road (I Am Invincible) and Kings Commission (Churchill), are also with Hawkes Racing but are yet to be seen at the races. Oscietra also has a yearling filly by Street Boss and was last year served by Anamoe.
Kimberley Lily: The first foal of Black Caviar's third foal Out Of Caviar, a daughter of Snitzel who retired unraced, is a four-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible in training with Lindsay Park whose only public appearance was when third in a Werribee jumpout in January.
Iberian Lynx: Out Of Caviar's third foal is a three-year-old Toronado gelding with the Hawkes team yet to be seen at the trials or jumpouts. Out Of Caviar's only other live foal to date is a two-year-old I Am Invincible colt.
Ready For Caviar fillies: Black Caviar's fourth foal Ready For Caviar, a daughter of More Than Ready, retired after two winless starts and has produced two fillies by Snitzel, a two-year-old and a yearling, neither of which have been named.
Prince Of Caviar's progeny: The first colt produced by Black Caviar was retired after one win and three placings from six starts and is about to embark on his fifth season at Riverbank Farm, where he stands of $4400. His oldest progeny are now three-year-olds and from six individual starters he's had one placegetter, Miss Top Gun, who is raced by some of Black Caviar's owners.
Invincible Caviar: The daughter of I Am Invincible, Black Caviar's fifth foal, showed the most of any of her progeny to date, winning half of her eight starts including one at Flemington, but died suddenly due to a heart issue in November last year.
