Racing Victoria boss Aaron Morrison says the decision to bump Melbourne Cup prizemoney up to $10 million "befits" the international standing of the great race.

Morrison joined Michael Felgate for a wide-ranging interview on Thursday.

He also addressed the decision to sell RSN's assets to SEN this week.
