Mark Robinson says Tarryn Thomas cannot be allowed to return to the AFL, if the sport wants to be taken seriously when it comes to attitudes towards women.

The AFL and its players will take a public stand against violence against women this weekend.

"You can do your great things, and it is a great thing, but then you've got a decision to make on Tarryn Thomas," he said.
