We've found a horse to follow from Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Race 9: Concorde (2nd)
There was no market expectation for the import's return to the track but he almost pinched it at a huge price.
At his first start for Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor, Concorde settled near last and Matt Chadwick opted to ride for luck up the fence.
Admittedly, he got the gaps but the horse also reeled off the fastest closing splits of the race to get within half a length of the winner, who led and controlled the race which was run in moderate overall time.
His best form in the UK is between 1600m and 2500m so the first-up run with the big weight over 1400m suggests he's come back well this campaign.
He's worth following this winter as he steps up in trip, particularly with SA races thinning out in depth once they get beyond 2000m.
