Vobis day at Caulfield with Pride Of Jenni resuming an interesting headline.
Tough day with some of these VOBIS finals, while Pride Of Jenni resumes in the Peter Young at 1800m.
I have no idea what to do in that race. The small field against some stayers over 1800m around Caulfield is almost an auto-bet on the leader, which she will be, but it's so hard to know how she'll run.
Instead, I'll make the best bet Matisse in Race 7, the VOBIS Gold Dash. I thought she was very unsuited fresh over 1100m at Flemington with 60kg under the weight conditions, working home well for a narrow fifth.
Gets in much better here with 55kg and out to 1200m suits, and I don't think there's a whole lot of opposition in this. She's Got Pizzazz just did enough fresh over 1000m and out to 1200m suits much better. She's a danger but Matisse sets up nicely here.
Tough day but I'll make Gellhorn the each-way play in Race 5, the VOBIS Platinum Guineas.
Mick Kent has spaced her runs but got her to 1500m last start where she controlled the race and kicked away for a solid win. That has her right in the mix here and barrier one should prove beneficial for her.
Put up a rating there that is very competitive here and can improve again getting to 1600m. At double figures in an open race, she can run very well.
The Melbourne Mail

Each-way play: Race 5 #9 Gellhorn at $12/3.30
