Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - PRE EMINENCE (4) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and two seconds from just four spins and is racing full of confidence of late. Winning rider Collis sticks and again gets the benefit of his 2kg claim. Rates the testing material. END ASSEMBLY (9) returned in good order with a close-up second at Ipswich and will have derived a stack of benefit from that hit-out. Top-three credentials. HAWKER HALL (11) is a bit hit or miss but is capable on his day and must be respected from the Lees yard. Keep safe. BOOM SHOT (8) returns from a break. Placed in a recent trial. Opened last campaign with a third at this track over 1110m. Include in wider plays.
RACE 2 - SICILIAN (12) is a two-time winner over this distance range, should be ready to peak now at the fifth run back and gets 1.5kg weight relief from the inside alley. Plenty to like about her prospects. The penny dropped for KICKATINALONG (6) when last in work stringing three wins together on the bounce. Has earned her shot at this level now and should prove hard to hold out again. CERTAINLYCAN (2) has placed two from two over this course and distance and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Rates a genuine top-three contender. GREYZOUS (4) strips fitter third-up from the break and may earn some minor money.
RACE 3 - One for the babies. The well-related LOCKYER (1) (full to G2 winner Strasbourg) is another to get the maiden out of the way at the latest outing over this course and distance and gets some weight off from the inside alley. Can make it back-to-back wins without surprising. BANG STICK (2) has been performing consistently up north and looks ready for the step-up in grade here. Capable of testing his rivals. COOL MOON (9) is still a maiden but is yet to put in a poor one and is a must for the multiples. SUMMATION (4) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. SAVEUR (11) has been thereabouts at both runs this prep. Decent effort last start to finish second over 1350m at Ipswich nine days ago. Ready to peak at the third run in.
RACE 4 - It's hard to knock the form of TUFF TU MUS (3) who has strung five wins together on the bounce with four of those victories coming around this circuit. Maps perfectly from gate three and this looks well within his grasp. DEEP RESPECT (4) is a four-time winner here and gets Melbourne Cup-winning hoop Dolan back in the saddle following that last-start victory. Top-three aspirations. MERCHANT FLYER (10) has won over this track and trip and strips fitter third-up from the spell. In the mix. SPACE AGE (5) found the company too strong two starts back. In easier company last start finished third at Ipswich. Can include in wider plays. CRANKY HARRY (1) can improve on his disappointing run last start here.
RACE 5 - The well-related RESTONICA (2) (full to Listed winner and G3 placed Renosu) has a handy record over this distance range with two wins and two seconds from just five attempts and has saluted on all going. Goes well for jockey Tilley who has two wins from just three steers and is expected to play a major role in the outcome. KADALL (4) has placed three of four this time in work and looks to be building up to another victory. Include from the inside alley. STREAK OF WINNING (9) is on the quick back-up here following just missing the placings at the Sunny Coast last weekend. A strong showing would not shock. BIG BOY GEORGE (8) has been well in the betting in all three runs this campaign and where there's smoke there's fire. Cannot be discounted. POSEIDON RULER (6) best of the rest from the favourable draw.
RACE 6 - The well-related SULTRY SIREN (4) (half to 2xG1 winner Shadow Hero) saves her best form for this circuit with two wins and two seconds from just five starts. Can return to winning ways in this suitable assignment. FAT FINGERS (3) gets in well at the weights with the claim and a better showing would not shock. TIJUANA TWO STEP (2) is at her pet distance range now and is a must for the multiples. ARAMINTA (11) strips fitter after two runs this campaign. Finished second last start over 1350m at Ipswich, an improvement in the first-up performance. Can run a bold race. AOLANI (5) strong effort last start to win an easier race by 4 lengths over 1400m at Dalby. Include in wider plays.
RACE 7 - Looks a wide open affair. DIANA'S AFFAIR (13) has put back-to-back wins together and is racing high on confidence of late. Winning hoop Thornton reunites and another bold showing is expected. LA COMETA (16) wasn't disgraced in Listed company last time out and should find this task a touch easier. In the mix. ZOOLOGY (2) has placed at the past couple and gets some well-needed weight relief with the 3kg claim. Top-three credentials. BENGAL BOY (14) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice effort at Gatton last start when second. Worth plenty of thought at odds. Can also make cases for BECAMO (17) who is live on a hat-trick and ARTFUL GIRL (15) who can run an improved race in this suitable company.
RACE 8 - JOHN RAMBO (10) has a solid record over this track and trip with three wins and a placing from six starts and will be rock-hard fit for this. Gets the services of gun hoop Thornton in the irons and a return to form looks on the cards. HOLD ON HONEY (1) has only missed a drum once in eight starts at this venue and gets 3kg off from the favourable draw. Ticks a few boxes and can give this a shake. Former Godolphin galloper AMUR (5) resumes from a break for the Gollan barn. Fitter for a recent trial at Doomben and look for a positive return. SWISS EXILE (4) has been out of the placings in recent runs but is back in grade here. Well placed with Dolan aboard and can feature.
RACE 9 - MISTER BIANCO (1) has hit a purple patch of form stringing three wins together on the bounce and is racing high on confidence this preparation. Only needs some luck navigating from the wide draw to winning a lion's share of the prize money again. The well-related AMUSEANTES (3) (half to G1 winner Startantes) looked good shedding the maiden tag last time and will get the run of the race from the inside alley. Can go right on with the job now. NOBLE DECREE (6) is one from one over this course and distance and doesn't know how to run a bad race. Bold showing expected again. SHE OURS (11) has hit the top-four in seven of eight career efforts with the only failure coming at Listed level. Has to be included. CHIEF IN CHARGE (10) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be underestimated.
