RACE 1 - ROUNDLE PARK (7) was a trial winner on this track before finishing second on debut here 2 weeks ago. He showed a lot of pace that day and was only run down late. He will be better for the experience, and with 2.5kg less to carry, he can go one better. COASTAL STRIKE (1) has been trying to win a race for some time and will be resuming from a spell. He has been placed in his only start on this track, and with the advantage of the pole position, he should be right in the finish fresh up for a new trainer. NEED A GIGGLE (3) is another long-time maiden gelding. He benefits from a 3kg claim, and in a small field, he can figure in the first 4 placings with the right run. SIMPLY DEEP (4) has won all 4 of his public trials, including his last 2 on this track. He has been given plenty of time to mature and is sure to have plenty of market support. PURR SEFANEE (6) resumes from a spell with a few gear changes. Top hoop David Pires picks up the ride. Don't risk him.

RACE 2 - TWICE THE ICE (5) showed some ability during her initial prep during the spring and will be resuming from a spell with a couple of sound trials on this poly surface under her belt. She has a good draw and is the one to beat in a modest lineup. CAFFY (2) has raced greenly in both of her starts to date and should now be peaking third up. She will benefit from a 3kg claim and can figure in the top 3 for the first time. HOTAPPLEPIE (1) has yet to fire in 3 starts this year and will have no excuses from a handy gate over a more suitable sprint trip. He is worth one more chance at odds in a field like this. ARCTIC ATTRACTION (6) won a trial before being well found in the market on debut at Hobart in December. He had a tough trip that day and faded out. He will resume from a spell and has again looked good at the trials. Stick with him. REDAIR (7) won the latest of 2 trials and will be making her debut with the advantage of the pole position. Use the market as your best guide.

RACE 3 - SKELMORLIE (7) was racing well enough in Victoria before being bought and shipped off to Tasmania, where she finished runner-up as favourite on this track 2 weeks ago over 1150m. The key here is the extra furlong, and from the pole position, she can break through for her first win. Follow your money. ALISENT (4) had one start this season at Geelong in August and finished runner-up. She has since joined the Andrew Moore stable, who produced her at a recent trial on this track to finish fourth. She has a good draw and can make a winning local debut. THE MOUNTAINEER (3) has been trying to win a race for some time and has been racing consistently with looking like a winning threat. Include in all combinations. GEEGEE AUNTY JESS (5) has found some form in this campaign and has been in the money in both of her starts on this track. She will appreciate the extra 200m, and is expected to be right in the finish again. GENUINE LADY (6) was fourth on debut and can continue to improve. Include.

RACE 4 - CAPITAL CHEVAL (1) has a good record on this surface and was runner-up by a head here nearly 4 weeks ago when making most of the running. He slides down in class and can take them all of the way this time. NO ACCESS (3) was a Launceston winner by a nose 3 starts back and has been running on late there in 2 subsequent runs. He has a good record on this circuit, including 3 wins, and from a handy draw, he can bounce straight back into the money. GUNSHIP (5) has raced his way into form and finished second here nearly 4 weeks ago. He has been a late scratching since then, and if he doesn't need the run, then he will be right in the finish again. RING OF HONOUR (4) has not won for some time and was fourth here last time out. He is back down in class, and is worth including in all multiples. LION'S TOOTH (6) can get back in his races and is at his best when the tempo is genuine. He is well worth including in all multiples, just to be safe.

RACE 5 - SPRING BEAN (4) could be in for his best campaign yet after posting back-to-back wins on this track, the most recent of those being 2 weeks ago in a similar field. He rises a further 2kg in weight, but is in a good space, and the hat-trick beckons. NICCO THE GREEK (1) fought on gamely when finishing third fresh up at Hobart 3 weeks ago. He has won 2 of his 3 starts on this poly track, and even from a wide gate, he can run another big race. Stick with him. ARUMA (3) is a very versatile mare who has been holding her form well this year. She likes the track, and David Pires will stick with her. Each way. MUSCLE UP (5) has been battling to find some form for some time, but has won a trial on this track since his last start at Launceston just over 5 weeks ago. He has a good draw, and a form reversal is on the cards. CHICANE (8) just battled over a middle distance in his last couple of starts and is normally very competitive over this shorter trip. Stick with him on an each-way basis.

RACE 6 - MARGIE (3) ended her initial prep as an upset come from last winner at Launceston and then showed that win was no fluke when resuming from a spell, to lead all the way on this circuit 2 weeks ago, again at big money. She won't find this much harder, and could well repeat the dose, but don't expect any more fancy money. SKY LAND (4) ended here last prep with a brace of wins, including her last on this track in January. She has been tuned up at a recent trial, and will be even stronger this time in work. A hat-trick of wins is not beyond her. GETCHA GROOVE ON (6) has been holding her form on this surface, and she will be suited by the perfect inside draw. Stick with her. HIGHLAND DUEL (1) is a very progressive 3-year-old gelding resuming from a spell. A recent close-up trial placing will ensure that he is ready to rumble fresh up. BERSERKER (5) has found it hard to win again and is usually doing his best work late. He drops 3kg from his last run, and can grab a slice of the top 3 here.

RACE 7 - GEEGEES CITY BOY (2) worked his way through the grades earlier in the season and then resumed with a solid finish for third on this track nearly 4 weeks ago. He has won 3 times on the poly track, and with the advantage of a superior draw, he should be among the hardest to beat. CORNELIAN BAY (5) is resuming from a spell after winning a recent trial on this track. He comes to hand quickly and saves his best for this surface. David Pires picks up the ride, and he is capable of taking this out fresh up. Use the market as your best guide. BOLD INSTINCT (1) has a good record on this track and has been thereabouts on the turf at Launceston recently. He is nicely placed after a 3kg claim, and can bounce back into the top 3 here. Each way. WARICA (4) is another consistent gelding who may not win often but is always a place chance at this level. He drops 4kg from his last start and is worth including in all combinations. PASHEONA (7) has been trialling up nicely and can give this a shake.

RACE 8 - MOHNAR (6) capped off some improving form when making a winning poly track debut here 2 weeks ago, scoring by a nose, courtesy of a cool Codi Jordan ride. He has fared poorly in the draw this time, but only needs some early luck to figure in the finish again. BAYSIDE (3) won his debut by 5 lengths on this course, and he was only beaten by a head here 2 weeks ago when looking for more ground. The extra 300m is ideal, and he will again be hard to beat. MEGA MIC (2) has thrived since shifting from Victoria earlier in the year and made it 2 wins from 4 starts with a hard-fought head win over the second pick a fortnight ago. The extra distance won't be an issue, and with less weight to carry, thanks to a 2kg claim, he can repeat the dose. AL MAXIMUS (4) is a very progressive gelding who has been racing well on the poly track here. He will be suited by the drop from 1880m to 1650m, and is expected to be in the finish again.
