Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - GINGER SINNER (6) made solid inroads late off a slow tempo to just miss the placings in a blanket finish. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt. Has to get going earlier this time. STAR GLADIATOR (8) is mixing his form but was good last start when chasing gamely into the placings. Draws to get the gun run on the short turnaround and presents the main danger. THE STREAKER (9) has been better in his last two and should give backers another bold sight. POLITICAL PROMISE (7) never looked likely on debut when getting too far back. Willing to give another chance with the booking of Neindorf interesting.
RACE 2 - HYSTERICAL LADY (9) continues to threaten. Can't knock her two runs back and she should be hitting her straps now. Inside alley for Crowther reads favourably. Ready. DREAM BABY (8) showed positive signs in her debut prep back in NSW without getting off the mark. Hasn't been seen at any public work in readiness but should find this easier on stable debut. LIKE A DIAMOND (10) never stopped trying when narrowly missing first-up at Mt Gambier. Will have taken benefit from the hit-out and draws well. Appears one of the main threats. IDRACOWRA (3) finds the maiden win elusive but keeps hinting. Don't dismiss.
RACE 3 - GIN RUMMY (6) sets up perfectly to finally shed his maiden tag after some strong chasing efforts. Impressed last start in particular when holding his own against a much stronger field. Only needs to reproduce to be taking care of these. I RUN ON AIR (3) continues to knock on the door and should be hitting his straps now. Boasts solid form lines and draws to get the gun run. Main danger. UNTIL DAWN (9) was much better at his second start when battling on gamely into the placings at Balaklava. Rises quickly to the mile. In the mix. HARLEM GODFATHER (1) next best.
RACE 4 - Open race. MASTER OF CEREMONY (6) doesn't win out of turn but has caught the eye in his last two when running on strongly. Should relish the rise in trip and can get the verdict. HEADSMART (2) has been ticking along nicely and gets his chance to break a long run of outs. Only been tested once at this journey without a result but his recent efforts suggest he's up to the mark. GOT AN INSPIRATION (3) closed off nicely behind a smarter one last start at Naracoorte over a similar trip. Most proven runner over this sort of distance and deserves respect. Similar story for ANPHINA (5), who has just found a better one in her last two. Cherry-ripe now and can get the job done.
RACE 5 - BELLENTIA (5) is ready to make her return. Showed plenty of promise in her debut prep, clinching the campaign with a breakthrough win at Clare when well supported. Has found an ideal race to kick things back off and has been tuned up with a nice Murray Bridge trial win. Expect her to take some stitching. FLOREY (4) was a barnstorming maiden winner here on debut before heading straight to the paddock. Hasn't been seen at any public trials in readiness but is a likely improver that deserves strong consideration. OPPORTUNE CHANCE (7) closed off nicely to just miss the winner here last start. Drops back to a sprinting trip off a 51-day freshen and can cause a late scare if they overdo it early. KINDRA PARK (6) should take advantage of his low draw and can give backers a bold sight with no fitness issues.
RACE 6 - GLOBAL TURN (4) is the class horse that brings superior formlines. Is 1/1 over the course and distance and gets a 2kg claimer on to aid the big weight. A lot to like. PRODIGAL LAD (5) caught the eye first-up and then followed it up with another strong chasing effort here at the latest. Has another wide draw to overcome but should be hitting his straps now. Main danger. ALLEGEDLY (1) has worked into his campaign nicely and now finally draws a good gate. Gets help under the big weight with the 2kg claimer again engaged. No reason he can't get involved again. GRINZINGER ACE (6) has been well below his best in his last two but his form prior stacks right up. Keeping safe.
RACE 7 - Tricky race to close proceedings. CROWN AND ANCHOR (1) is ticking along nicely without doing much winning and has enough early toe to offset the wide draw. Pannell sticking is a good push for his chances. PIWHANE (13) was a determined winner three back. Chased gamely to just miss the placings last start off a 56-day freshen and should relish getting back out to a mile. Draws well and is one of the main hopes. PRIVATE JET (3) doesn't do much winning but has proven capable enough on his day. Blinkers going on first time holds intrigue, expecting a bold showing. TYUSIX (12) is another that is ticking along nicely but will need a smart steer from the horror draw. Neindorf piloting helps.
