Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - DUAL PRESSURE (3) made it a winning stable debut when resuming at headquarters, digging deep late after showing good tactical speed. Carries a big weight again despite the rise in grade but is open to further improvement and can win again for a red-hot stable. THREE RINGS (7) meets Dual Pressure 2kgs better at the weights this time after only going down a long neck last start. Nearing peak and is a great chance to atone. LET'S GET DOWN (2) carries a fitness edge over his main rivals and drops back to a favourable trip off a 35-day freshen. Serious hope. DELIGHTFUL SHECKY (4) returns over a favoured trip and goes well fresh. Inside draw should take him right into the race.
RACE 2 - SIR NOW (3) has been denied narrowly in both runs back but should be peaking now on the quick back-up over a favoured track and trip. Drawn to advantage and is the one to beat. BEEN OUR ANGEL (2) has good early speed and strips rock-hard fit. Expect him to spear across from his draw and give backers a sight. WADAANA (9) kept finding here last start in a brave pillar-to-post success. Can give some cheek. MAZOVIA (6) will appreciate a solid early tempo and can be launching late.
RACE 3 - DUAL FUEL (6) toyed with her rivals last start over a longer trip and could've won by further. No concerns with her dropping back in trip, as she boasts a terrific record. Expecting her to make it two on the bounce. WATADEEL (2) is yet to be tested at this distance but has been sticking on gamely against tougher opposition. Hasn't won for a long time but Neindorf on for Stokes always reads favourably. Bold showing anticipated. MOTORACE (4) was much better last start when chasing gamely into the frame behind the promising Bakeel. Is sure to appreciate the rise in trip third-up and he's among the main chances. SIR KINGSFORD (1) found them too sharp first-up but still did a good job to finish midfield. Much better suited over this journey and is drawn perfectly. Will be in this for a long way. SHAKESPEARE (9) is on the quick back-up after flashing home to just miss at headquarters. Keeping safe in exotics.
RACE 4 - SISSTAINABLE (3) showed good improvement fresh when missing by a head at Sandown-Hillside. Draws well for Crowther and expect the race experience to prove invaluable. ARTISTIC ANGEL (4) was much better at the latest when sticking on gamely into the frame at Murray Bridge. Has further improvement in store and the stable put their main man on. Has to be taken seriously. BLUE HOTEL (7) is a nicely bred I Am Invincible filly on debut from Stakes winner Volcada, who has produced her fair share of winners. Douglas has readied her with some solid hit-outs. Market attraction will add confidence. BOA VISTA (8) returns for Price & Kent (Jnr). Found the G3 Chairman's too tough on debut but looks to have come back in good order. Should get a good run for Nunes from the draw. SKJALDMO (10) is another Victorian debutant that is worth monitoring.
RACE 5 - EVERGLADE (2) closed off strongly into the frame when resuming here two weeks ago. Yet to be tested at this journey but hails from a smart stable, so suspect her to step right up to the mark. WINE BARRON (12) is yet to strike through this campaign but is ticking along nicely. Went better than the form suggests last start in what has proven a strong form race. Kept fresh for this and can run a bold race. FINE FUTURE (5) has been mixing his form but there's little doubt his best is good enough. Dominated them here last start and draws well for Crowther. Can repeat the dose. THE JOURNO (10) chased in vain behind FF last start but did warm nicely late. Peaking now and will be hoping they overdo it early so he can launch late.
RACE 6 - SYNCHRO (7) is still lightly raced so boasts plenty of upside third-up. Dominated fresh off a long break but was a touch flat last start here. Suspect he can bounce back sharply this time with blinkers on first time. Leading player. THE GOLDEN FIST (5) is ticking along superbly this campaign and strikes another suitable contest. Has proven versatile, so interesting to see what they do from the wide draw. Only needs to hold his form and with even luck he'll be right there at the end. PRICILLA'S CHOICE (13) didn't give her rivals a sniff last start at Oakbank when leading pillar-to-post. Ran good time and expect them to replicate from the wide draw. Will take some catching. NICAJON (1) chased hard to arrive just in time at Ballarat. Up in the weights but is worth considering.
RACE 7 - MATISSE (8) should relish the rise to 1400m third-up off the back of two strong chasing efforts back in Victoria. Won't know herself under the light weight and gets a good bunny to chase in SF. Will take plenty of holding out. STAY FOCUSED (1) also comes over the border and boasts the strongest form lines. Showed great grit to keep finding and get the bob last start at the Valley. Drawn to advantage and is sure to give a great sight. ON DISPLAY (10) caught the eye last start at the Valley when darting through late behind the promising Clean Energy at G3 level. Open to further improvement third-up and is another that will relish the added trip. Gets the chance to take closer order and has to be taken seriously. Smaller case can be made for YES LULU (9).
RACE 8 - SUZIDO (10) has struck a purple patch of form and finds another winnable race. Will be utilising her draw and only needs to hold her form to be winning. ZEBELLA (5) returns and is a noted fresh performer. Boasts strong peaks and will appreciate Neindorf reuniting. Main danger. SUNZOU (9) also resumes and it's worth noting he went close here when first-up last campaign. Plenty of subsequent winners around him last prep and he's been readied for this with a nice hitout at Murray Bridge. Can return with a bang. COOL MAGNUM (4) usually takes a couple of runs to get going but he's proven more than capable on his day. Boasts a good record over this track and trip and is among the key chances. BALLON D'OR (6) is a tough one to catch but does have X-factor. Will be doing her best work late and can't be underestimated.
RACE 9 - RICHE D'AMOUR (2) was a barnstorming winner fresh and has since followed up with strong chasing efforts in this grade, Peaking now and has Pannell sticking. The one to beat. VALLENCOURT (8) never lay down last start at headquarters. Strips cherry-ripe fitness on the short turnaround and is drawn to advantage. Is sure to be in this for a long way. EVEN SHARPER (3) closed nicely into the frame when resuming here two weeks ago. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt. Will be launching late. ANDREW'S MEMORY (4) doesn't do much winning but rarely turns in a bad one. Right up to this on best form and gets a key booking in Toeroek. FALANGHINA (9) comes through a hot form race and is a likely improver. Always have to respect Neindorf for Stokes.
