Western Australia’s iron horse London’s Image has taken Ryan Hill on a whirlwind ride in the past couple of months and the journey is not quite over for the pair.
There's a Group 2 race over the mile at Flemington on Saturday to take in and later, a crack at Perth's richest race, The Quokka, has also been thrown up as a salivating prospect.
Never in Hill's wildest imagination did he believe that London's Image could reach the heights she has after kicking things along with a Bunbury win last September.
Hill started the preparation with optimism, but the Headwater fillies competitive nature, her will to win and her frontrunning style, has exceeded all expectations.
After Bunbury she collected two Listed wins, placed in four others, including across the border in Melbourne, with a fifth in the WA Guineas (1600m) her only top three miss.
Hill's regard for London's Image is palpable. Three years after hanging up his saddle, she's given his fledgling training career a big nudge, his profile has risen.
Hill is enjoying the experience.
"It's been really good and it's just good fun," Hill said on Tabradio.
"It's pretty exciting for us, we've only been going for three years.
"To be honest, the support from people has been fantastic.
"It's given us a lot of thinking about looking at races over there.
"If you find a horse there's no reason why you shouldn't travel across.
"It was pretty exciting being at Moonee Valley last week and having a runner there.
"I've got my best mate riding her and my sister owns her.
"She's exceeded all expectations and owes us nothing."
Aside from Hill, there's another big admirer of London's Image.
"Brad (Parnham) doesn't get excited about nothing," Hill said.
"He just laid back; people know what he's like.
"You have to put a rocket up him half the time.
"After Friday night he was dead set keen to come back.
"She must have impressed a few people.
"Last week no one called me for the ride at the Valley, but Monday when the noms came out there were a lot more calls.
"In my opinion, Brad rides her better than anyone."
After a tardy start in last week's Listed Abell Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley, Parnham had London's Image coiled behind the leader and once she angled away from the fence, she attacked the line strongly for third behind Brudenell.
London's Image didn't claim first prize, but Hill was far from disappointed in her interstate debut.
"She done us proud and accounted for herself really well," Hill said.
"She didn't get a clear crack at them, but it wasn't a complete disaster in my opinion.
"We always planned on this race and it did her racing manners the world of good.
"She was up against older and experienced horses, not just a bunch of three-year-olds."
London's Image butters up quickly at Flemington on Saturday and rises to the mile in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes.
"She stays at Simon Zahra's and when I spoke to him he's rapt with how well she's looking," Hill said.
"She's a tough filly and will give them a shake.
"She only just got beat in the Guineas (1600m) here (WA) by two lengths.
"Brad's adamant he wants me to give her a go at the mile."
London's Image goes up against nine other rivals, headed by VRC Oaks (2500m) winner and hot favourite TreasureThe Moment, Damian Lane's mount.
From gate four, Hill expects London's Image to be in front.
"I think she probably leads," Hill said.
"She's never fast out of the machine but in a few strides can muster pretty quick.
"Brad will let her find her feet, she'll lead, but I don't think he'll rush her there.
"Realistically, the horse that Damian Lane is on looks very good, but they all get beaten, we'll give it a go."
Hill's not looking past the Kewney on Saturday, but if all falls into place he has upped the ante on London's Image coming home and contesting Perth's richest race: The Quokka (1200m), worth $5 million at Ascot on April 26, if she can secure a slot.
"If things go according to plan there's two options," Hill said.
"Option one in a fortnight there are two or three races at the Valey.
"Or, do we go on a plane and bring her back home because there's one race at home that she can run in.
"We'll just see if we get any calls for that race."
TreasureThe Moment is the $1.85 favourite for the Kewney Stakes.
On a five start winning streak, she cemented Tabtouch market lead when winning the Group 2 Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield first up.
London's Image is $12.
