Big effort for the Big Freeze at the Ville

It’s getting cold in Healesville, and it will be even colder on Sunday at the Healesville Greyhound Racing Club when 30 greyhound personalities take a Big Freeze Dunking to Fight MND.

This is the second year Healesville Greyhound Racing Club Manager Peter Frost has played host to a Big Freeze event with last year seeing $3,381 raised.

The Big Freeze at the Ville is quickly gaining momentum, this year the goal started with $6,000 but has now more than doubled to $15,000 as donations and support continues to roll in.

One of our favourite supporters is champion greyhound Explicit, who has vowed – through the generous guidance of Team Thompson and Tullio, to donate $25 for every Box 4 wearing the blue rug that wins on Victorian tracks from Monday 2nd June to Sunday 8th of June.

"I am so proud of the greyhound community getting behind the clubs' efforts to raise money to Fight MND," Peter Frost said.

"From media moguls to CEO's and some of the sport's biggest names, they will take the plunge on Sunday."

The racing kicks off at 10.57am and live music starts from 12.30pm, with the cold plunges to follow.

"It's a fun filled family day, and I encourage everyone to attend this charity event to help fight MND," Frost said.

"We also have a snow machine, so it will definitely snow at the Ville on Sunday!"
