Before last week, South Australian David Peckham had never set foot on Sandown Park. But tonight, he walked away a Group 1 winning trainer.

"It's a pretty good feeling," trainer David Peckham said post-race.

"Box one is what you want in big races and the wins even better when it's one you bred."

"It's a team effort."

Peckham and Bourne Model had a big cheer squad on track to cheer her home to victory, headed by Christine who caught Bourne Model post Group 1 win.

"I can't believe it and we are going upstairs to buy champagne," Christine said.

Bourne Model's 29.29 second Sapphire Crown victory impressed Sky talent Nathan Rooney.

"It's one thing to have good ability, but it's another thing to come to Victoria and handle the pressure."

Bourne Model is a daughter of Feral Franky and Sweet On Me. She is bred by The Nineofus Syndicate, owned and trained by David Peckham.

Bourne Model (1) leads all the way in the Group 1 Sapphire Crown in a time of 29.29 seconds.
