Trainer Jeff Britton has always had an opinion of the brother to Australian Cup winner Mepunga Tully but injuries have seen him spend time on the sidelines.

Strength has always been on Mepunga Rewards side and a step back in distance from the 600 to 515 came off as a master stroke tonight.

Deadly Avenger returned to Victorian soil in emphatic fashion, leading all the way in his heat and holding off Tim Zoo in a time of 29.10.

Morton put in the race of his life, after dealing with a dislodged muzzle for the entirety of his Harrison-Dawson heat and still managing to stop the clock at 29.32 seconds, holding off Field Day.

Wyong Dallas overcame a poor get away, holding off a strong finishing Van Wyck and Dr. Asher.
